Hannah's First Recital

Hannah had her first recital last week for her pre-ballet class. It was so adorable! She did really well and had her big beautiful smile on the whole time!

This is what happens when your older brother (Blake) leaves out the peanut butter and bread! Oh yeah, not to mention the knife!

Back from my "hibernation"

Yes, I am back from my hibernation! It felt good and I just got stuck! Actually, I really haven't felt like posting lately. It is actually time consuming for me. FB is all I am able to keep up with lately!

A lot has been going on over here since my last post. The kids are doing well with school, except Joey is struggling with Algebra. We are currently looking for a tutor. He must have my wonderful math genes! He was doing so-so in Science but his last two tests have been outstanding.Blake is reading all the time! Sometimes things you don't want him to, like I will catch him reading my hubby's emails to me behind my back. Then he will ask what's that? I say "Go play Blake!"( Most husbands who have been gone for awhile tend not to write about the weather, so you can see why I don't want Mr. Blake reading "certain"things.) Hannah is finally writing her name, yeah! For months she has been writing H's on everything, (even the walls) so when you say who wrote on this? "Not me mama." Then why does it have an H on it? She always gives me a smirk and shrugs those shoulders before she runs for the magic eraser. Thomas is just Thomas. Playing with balls and his new favorite thing dolls. Just what his daddy loves to hear! I caught him trying to nurse a bear while taking his nap. (No dear, it doesn't make him gay!) Mikey is getting bigger and cuter by the day! He is crawling under things, over things, around things, and into things! He does love to play with Thomas and Hannah. His new favorite game is peek-a -boo. Then there's mommy. What has she been up to? Well, let's see. Trying to loose weight before I go home, schooling the kids, cleaning house, laundry, cooking, changing 500 diapers, yelling at my *sweet* children, meeting new friends, saying goodbye to old ones, and missing my wonderful husband so much! I wouldn't change a thing! I do love doing all the mommy stuff and an very blessed and grateful to God that he has given us such a wonderful family!

Lent, well that's going ok. I have fallen off the "Lent wagon" once or twice maybe even three times. I am still trying, it's not easy when your short a man! Sometimes when my hubby is gone my prayer life suffers a tad bit. We do always manage to have our family Rosary every night still. If I didn't have that I don't know what I would do!

Well, that's it for now. All of my kiddos are officially up so my day starts again! I have also just been notified that Hannah wet her bed, Blake's throat hurts and he is coughing, Thomas spilled milk on my couch, Joey is bossing Blake, and Mikey wants mommy milk! Yeah!!!! This is going to be a fun day! Oh yeah I ran out of diapers and wipes. Oh well, isn't this what we call the joys of parenthood?!

God Bless,

Cheryl

Happy Anniversary Jim

"Blessed the husband of a good wife, twice-lengthened are his days; A worthy wife brings joy to her husband, peaceful and full is his life. A good wife is a generous gift bestowed upon him who fears the Lord; Be he rich or poor, his heart is content, and a smile is ever on his face.

A gracious wife delights her husband, her thoughtfulness puts flesh on his bones; A gift from the Lord is her governed speech, and her firm virtue is of surpassing worth. Choicest of blessings is a modest wife, priceless her chaste soul. A holy and decent woman adds grace upon grace; indeed, no price is worthy of her temperate soul. Like the sun rising in the Lord’s heavens, the beauty of a virtuous wife is the radiance of her home." Sirach 25:12-26:18

The 5 Question Meme....

I found this over at Allison'sblog and I thought it would be fun to share. The thought of asking other people questions sounds fun to me since I am sooo noisy! ;) Here's how it works. Leave me a comment and tell me if you would like to be interviewed, I will send you  5 questions (my choice) and then you post them on your blog and do the same. I think this is how it works! Most of my friends don't have blogs, but sense I am so snoopy go ahead and answer them anyway!

From Allison

1. What do you like and dislike about Japan?

Well to be honest, I really don't like it here. I am a cold weather kind of gal!  I love watching the season's change and smelling the cold winter air. I also miss the convenience of going down to Target if I want to get something! I also don't like living around dangerous snakes(Habu's) or creepy spiders(banana and brown widow). I miss my family and friends like crazy! It makes me sad to think of my Dad not being able to meet Michael who is almost 9 month's old and he hasn't seen the others in almost 2 years. The worst part of being here is that there is NO Latin Mass. We have to have Fr. Onoda fly here every 4 months or so. The New Mass that is here is horrible! I can't even describe I much I can't stand the New Mass. Every time we go I feel sad and I get angry at how people think Mass is a big party. Now there are some nice things about living here. The people are very nice, they have beautiful beaches, it is cool to be in a typhoon, Jim isn't working 100 hrs. a week anymore, the lush jungles and wild orchids are gorgeous, I can say " I lived in Japan", and I have met some super friends over here!

2. Is there a time in your life you'd like to live again or change?

I am a firm believer in not going back and changing things. Of course I do always have a few things I would like to change, like not eating that extra piece of cake, or had so many Butterfingers during my pregnancy! I think I would not be the person that I am today If I had not made a few mistakes along the way! I have had terrible things done to me ( my grandfather molesting me all throughout my childhood) and I have done terrible things ( my abortion in HS). Of course I wish those things didn't happen to me, but if they didn't I might not be so protective of my children with people or I might not be so Pro-Life now. I believe that God permits bad things to happen to teach us lessons. Hopefully we can learn from them and help someone else in the process.

3. What do you dream for your children?

I want them to always be Catholic. If I do nothing else in life I want them to always remain faithful Catholics. I know if they do this they will have true happiness one day, not on earth but in Heaven. My secrett dream is for them to all have religious vocations! ;)

4. What is your birth verse?  Find a chapter that coincides with the month of your birthday and match to it a verse that is the same number as your birthday. (So if your birthday is today, find the chapter 1 verse 22 scripture that inspires you the most and tell us why.)

Well I picked a Gospel  and started looking at St. John (my favorite). Yeah, that verse Ch. 1 , 28. That was not such an inspiring verse. " These things took place at Bethany, beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing." So, I went to my other favorite Gospel St. Luke. Wow, talk about finding something inspiring! St. Luke 1, 28~ And when the angel had come to her, he said, " Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women." I love this verse because is shows that Mary was conceived without sin. I am trying to have a closer relationship with the Blessed Mother. I know that she will lead me to her Divine Son.

5. What is your most secret and bizarre talent?

Gosh, I had to ask my hubby for this one! He couldn't come up with anything! Geez what does that mean? I can only think of one. I have a great sense of smell! I can smell a poopy diaper within 5 miles (not really, but close!) I have been able to smell when I accidentally left my gas burner on. I can smell all kinds of things. Some things I wish I couldn't! Here is a BIG secret that some of my friends know about my obsession for smell and well now the Internet will now know! I smell everything that I fold! I love the smell of clean clothes out of the dyer! I love to try different laundry soap and fabric softenercombinations to see what they smell like! That actually sounds a little OCD! Oh well, if you ever want to know what smells the best from candles to clean clothes just ask! ;)

Children are Enviromental Concerns

Yes, you read the title right. Apparently there are some out there who see my children as polluters. I think the idea is preposterous! Please go to one of my bloggy buddies site and read her post on this matter. It is a great read and it is worth it!

God Bless,

Cheryl

Belief In God

There are two types of men, those who are afraid to lose God, and those who are afraid that they might find Him…
--Blaise Pascal, philosopher and scientist

If you want to start the New Year right, why don't you start believing in God or start learning more about your Faith! I found this website today it looks pretty interesting. Enjoy and let me know your thoughts!

God Bless,

Cheryl

My Little Cutie

I had to post this for you guys!

First Haircuts

I always dread the 1st haircut of any of my baby boys. I really wasn't sad about Hannah's first cut it was more shock because she cut her own hair with the help of her older brother Blake. That's another story. Let's get back to the original topic ;) I remember 13 years ago my little Joey had beautiful blonde curly hair that his dad one day decided had to go because and I quote " It is getting to girly".  Well, technically you could have put a ponytail in the back, but only a tiny one! Jim took him the the barber on the Marine base and he came home with no more curls but very short hair! He left a little baby boy and came back a little boy. Since then Jim has taken Blake to get his first haircut and now today it was Thomas' turn. Now he is entering the phase a little boy and babyhood is now behind him. Next year Michael. :(
